Braden’s Butterflies is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing live butterflies to families of perinatal loss. These butterflies are intended to be released by the family as a memorial to their lost little one.
The release of a butterfly is meant to symbolize the connection of two lives. While we wish these lives could be together on Earth, we hope the wings of your butterfly will carry your love to a place that we cannot.
What is perinatal loss?
The World Health Organization defines perinatal loss as the loss of an infant beyond the 20th week of gestation or within one month post-birth.
Our Mission
The mission of Braden's Butterflies is to provide families of perinatal loss a moment to find peace and reconnect with their lost child through the release of a live butterfly. The families may do this, when and how they feel appropriate to honor their loss.
Our Plan and Goal
We are currently partnered with Luke Lives On and OU Children's Hospital to distribute our certificates. We also provide certificates on a case-by-case basis, as we meet other families that share our experience.
